What Trust Tiers Do

Your trust tier controls how your contributions are handled. It is earned through your activity, not assigned at random.

The Tiers

• New: the default for every account. Your submissions require moderation review before they publish.
• Trusted: earned through quality contributions. Your submissions can auto-publish without waiting for review.
• Flagged: applied when suspicious activity is detected. Contribution features are blocked pending review.
• Banned: a permanent block from user-generated content features.

How Tiers Change

You can be promoted from new to trusted when you meet all of the following:

• 3 or more approved submissions.
• An account at least 30 days old.
• A verified email address.
• An approval rate of 50 percent or higher.

Tiers can also move down:

• An approval rate below 30 percent returns a trusted member to new.
• 3 or more spam flags move an account to flagged.
• Staff can set flagged or banned manually.

If your tier is lowered, you may be able to appeal the change.
