It combines copilot-style autocomplete with agentic capabilities, allowing the AI to autonomously execute multi-step tasks while keeping you in control. Windsurf became Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026 under Cognition, which states it is the same IDE with the same features unified under the Devin brand; windsurf.com now redirects to devin.ai/desktop.
