The Official MCP Registry is the centralized metadata repository for publicly accessible Model Context Protocol servers, backed by Anthropic, GitHub, PulseMCP and Microsoft. It does not host packages itself: it stores metadata pointing at packages in existing registries, so a server published to npm can be discovered and version-resolved through one place instead of scattered READMEs.
