MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3
MiniMax
MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3 is a proprietary video generation model exposed through the MiniMax platform API, callable on both the text-to-video and image-to-video endpoints as model value MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3. It generates 6- or 10-second clips at 768P, or 6-second clips at 1080P, from a prompt of up to 2000 characters that may include camera-movement commands. A cheaper MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3-Fast variant shares the same endpoints.
Strengths
- Callable on both the text-to-video and image-to-video endpoints as a single model value
- 10-second clips at 768P, longer than the 6-second cap most configurations allow
- 1080P output available at 6 seconds
- Accepts prompts up to 2000 characters, including camera-movement commands
- A MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3-Fast variant runs the same job for roughly 30 to 45 percent fewer video points
- Failed generations and security-review rejections are not billed
Caveats
- 1080P is available only at 6 seconds; the 10-second option is limited to 768P
- No audio output is documented for this model on either the text-to-video or image-to-video reference page
- Proprietary and API-only: no weights, no self-hosting
- Prompt auto-optimization defaults to true, so the API rewrites the submitted prompt unless the caller explicitly disables it
- MiniMax publishes no benchmark scores for this model, and the docs give no vendor-stated release date

Billed in MiniMax video points per generation: 768p/6s deducts 1 point, 768p/10s deducts 2 points, 1080p/6s deducts 2 points. MiniMax-Hailuo-2.3-Fast deducts 0.7, 1.1 and 1.3 points for the same three configurations. Video generation failures or videos that trigger security review are not deducted.
