Uploading Your Avatar

Adding a Photo

1. Open Settings and select the Profile tab.
2. In the avatar area, choose Upload photo and pick an image.
3. For most formats, a crop dialog opens so you can zoom and position the image into a square. Choose Apply to upload it.

Your new avatar is saved immediately and appears across the site.

Supported Formats and Size

You can upload PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and HEIC or HEIF images. The maximum file size is 5MB.

HEIC and HEIF photos (common from iPhones) cannot be cropped in the browser, so they skip the crop dialog. The image is converted and automatically cropped to a square on the server instead.

Using a Gravatar

Prefer a Gravatar tied to your email? Choose Use Gravatar to set your avatar from your Gravatar account.

Removing Your Avatar

If you have an avatar set, choose the remove option to clear it. Your profile then falls back to your initials.

Uploads Held for Review

For safety, some uploads may be held for an extra check or rejected. If that happens, your current avatar stays in place and you are notified.
